Lisa

Lisa grew up in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Right after finishing her teaching degree, she got a job in Kuwait, teaching grade 1 at an American school. Her travels prior to this comprised of Western Europe, Mexico, and parts of the US. Lisa is terrified of and hates flying, but will do it for travel! She loves a good book and a game of soccer.

Trevor

Trevor grew up in Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada. It is considered a "city,” but it's basically a small town. After teaching for two years in Dauphin, he decided to get out before it was too late, so he moved to Toronto to play music. After a couple of years of that, he decided to get back into the teaching game. He ended up getting a job in Kuwait through a friend, teaching high school English at an American school.

 Us

We met on Trevor's first day in Kuwait (Lisa arrived a few days earlier), and got together a couple of weeks after that. We were both teaching at the same school, and lived in the same building (or hotel at first...lack of room at the teacher housing). We ended up staying in Kuwait for 4 years, before deciding to head back to Canada and give Canadian teaching a try. We both accepted jobs in the small but mighty mining town of Flin Flon, Manitoba (Yes, it's a real place...go on...you can laugh). Basically it's the complete opposite of Kuwait in every way. Temperature, population, traffic, etc… Except they both have almost an equal amount of potholes. We loved our time in Flin Flon and still consider it one of our homes that we will always come back to, but after 6 years of cold and snow for half the year, we headed to milder climates in BC. If you want any crazy Kuwait or Northern Manitoba stories, send us a message! We've got some great ones!
